    The Florentine Metropolitan Chapter, through its library and archive, is a true guardian of time. Rare and ancient manuscripts are carefully kept and made available to scholars, with the aim of handing down the memory of the past.

Entrance to the cathedral

Entrance to the cathedral is free and is permitted only with clothing appropriate for a place of worship. People with mobility difficulties can access the Cathedral using the "Porta dei Canonici" (right side of the Cathedral)

Discovering the Chapter of the Cathedral of Florence

The historic headquarters of the Chapter of the Cathedral of Florence, the former church of San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro, overlooks Piazza del Chapter, a few steps from the Cathedral of S. Maria del Fiore.
Visits, to learn about the history of one of the oldest institutions in our city, and "enjoy" its works of art, glimpses of life lived, anecdotes and curiosities about the re-discovery of our cultural identity are possible upon booking request to be sent to segreteria.capitolo@duomofirenze.it
