• Place where man meets faith

Whoever crosses the threshold of Santa Maria del Fiore, or the Cathedral of Florence, is immersed in its sacredness. It is art and history, it is culture and the representation of beauty. It is the house of the Lord, a place of faith and spiritual encounter. It is the episcopal church of the Archbishop of Florence.

  • Architecture becomes marvel

The admirable building of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's bell tower and the Baptistery of San Giovanni are artistic masterpieces and engineering excellence at the same time. Brunelleschi's dome is a marvel, it is an example of how Renaissance man was capable of exploring new and daring solutions.

  • Art sublimes in perfection

The greatest artists of the Renaissance and beyond met in the Duomo. The frescoes, paintings, mosaics, statues create an environment of pure and sublime beauty.

  • Where history was written

The Florentine Metropolitan Chapter, through its library and archive, is a true guardian of time. Rare and ancient manuscripts are carefully kept and made available to scholars, with the aim of handing down the memory of the past.
